My Animated Emoticons

Before showing you all the zillions of websites with resources for emoticons and smileys let us give you a definition of what an emoticon or smiley is and where you’d use it.

What are emoticons and smileys?
An emoticon is used to express emotion in email and instant messenger. Emoticons can be either text or a small graphic icon. All instant messenger applications support emoticons including MSN Messenger (msn smileys), Yahoo Messenger (yahoo emoticons) and AOL Messenger (aim smileys). Emoticons are also called smiley, smileys, smilies and icons. Emoticons and smileys and animated too now so you will often see the words animated smiley or animated emoticon.
